Building a healthy culture
Many of the most successful companies around the globe have adopted a coordinated approach towards health and well-being and are now reaping the benefits, being recognised by government departments, competitors, customers and employees as some of the top places to work, and therefore maintaining their competitive edge.
“A healthy workplace is a place where everyone works together to achieve an agreed vision for the health and well-being of workers and the surrounding community. It provides all members of the workforce with physical, psychological, social and organisational conditions that protect and promote health and safety. It enables managers and workers to increase control over their own health and to improve it, and to become more energetic, positive and contented2.”
Optum believe that well-being affects more than just our physical health.
We believe that well-being should look at a person holistically. All of our services are built on a bio-psycho-social model of health, providing a number of behavioral change services for the employer market. A selection of the different services includes:
Corporate workplace Health Programme
A turnkey approach to employee health and well-being - a programme that provides pre-loaded multi-channel communication materials to implement a health and wellbeing programme, based on the principle of using monthly themes to engage with staff, targeting stress and resillience.
Training and support is provided, as well as toolkits, a member portal and much more.
Measuring your wellbeing performance
The Health Risk Assessment (HRA) tool provides you with a robust and sophisticated way of measuring chronic health conditions and productivity, drilling down deeper into the health and wellbeing status of individuals within your workforce. You will also get an aggregate picture of the current population health status of your organisation as a whole, and the HRA presents risk for each covered medical condition.

Based on the renowned Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement, this training will equip any of your volunteer wellbeing champions to understand more about the key health messages and how to communicate and support staff in your organisation.
